ALT+TABS ↹ : PARALLEL SPACE ||

Alt Tabs brought together large format print, metal prints, video, installation, sculpture, and painting. The title is a reference to the Windows function alt+tab which is used to switch between different programs when multitasking, and also a referencing to tabs of LSD as a call back to altered states of perception. This show featured the first hints of a more prominent thread of personal history and conceptual self-portraiture in my practice. The exhibition was a survey of my practice at that point, from the large to small scale, and different ways of creating visceral experiences using the materiality of screens and how they interact with other physical media.

Important pieces in the exhibition include the massive print  “S.C.U.T.D.B.” made using distorted CRT footage and blur to create a massive colorfield that distorts the viewers perception, as well as “I/O (input output)” a chicken wire sculpture exploring escapism and suffering, using a 3D printed sculpture of the artists face with a video projected overtop, and carefully modelled hands made by bending a single piece of green wire hands, and a green wire heart pierced with shards of mirror.
